FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When is the best time to arrange a trial for my wedding day hair & makeup?

A: I would recommend two to three months before the wedding day so you have plenty of time to address any problems that may emerge from the trial run. These can then be discussed with your consultant and a course of treatments worked out between you. You should not book a trial so far in advance that you forget your styling or start getting indecisive about what you have gone for!

Q: What products are used?

A: All Bridal Hair & Beauty consultants use top quality products from a variety of well-known brand names such as Mac, Clarins, and Aveda.

Q: When should I have beauty treatments like waxing or facials?

A: I would recommend that these be carried out well in advance of your wedding day, especially if you have never had them before. Facials are designed to encourage impurities to come out of your skin, so you may find that up to a month after the treatment these impurities are still working their way out of your system. With waxing you may develop small pimples to the area treated, especially if the area is on your face, or you may react to the product, so a trial run well in advance of your wedding is essential and the actual treatment itself should take place a few days before the big day.

Q: I have problems with my skin. Any advice?

A: Our consultants are professional beauty therapists and are able to identify any problems that you do have and advise on a course of action that should improve any problems in advance of your wedding.

Q: Can you cover birthmarks, scarring or tattoos?

A: Yes. The beauty therapists are trained to provide camouflaging makeovers. It is advisable to bring any tattoos etc to the attention of the therapist at your trial run so that she can make provision for your wedding day.

Q: What happens if the therapist's car breaks down or she is ill?

A: Beauty Hair & Beauty operates a team of qualified professionals and as such they are normally able to cover for each other in the unlikely event of a breakdown, accident or illness.

Q: Should I wash my hair on the day?

A: We prefer all hair to be washed the day before the wedding as this allows your hair to re-settle. However many brides find it impossible to go to their wedding with what they think is "dirty" hair and will want to wash it no matter what. As long as your hair is dry and in a natural state we will be able to complete your styling.

Q: How can one person do all the styling in time to get us to the wedding?

A: At your trial your consultant will determine the quantity of work and the time required for your wedding day makeover. If the work is more than she is able to do in the time allowed, a second or even third therapist will join her to ensure all work is completed on time.

Q: What about the mothers and my bridesmaids?

A: Bridal Hair & Beauty offers a service to all who require it and are happy to provide services to everyone - male or female - older or younger.

Q: I would like to have a tan on my wedding day. What do you recommend?

A: It is advisable to have a patch test of the product you want to use several weeks before your wedding to ensure it is suitable for your skin. The actual tanning session should be carried out a day or two before the wedding to allow the tan to develop and to ensure that there is no residue left on the skin that could taint your dress.

Q How can I secure my wedding date in your diary?

A: You can secure a date in our diary on receipt of a £50 deposit. Most brides prefer to secure their booking just after the trial in order to avoid disappointment. Please phone Kate on 01634 222128 or e-mail us at info@bridalhairandbeauty.com .

Q What if I need to re-touch my make-up during the day?

A: Your make-up will be applied using professional techniques and good quality products, all of which will help your make-up stay on. However, if you would like to purchase the products used at your trial run either for touch-ups on the day itself or for future use, an entire range of wedding quality products is available for purchase in our website shop.

Q: I am not a bride. Can I still book you for beauty services?

A: Yes. We will come to you for any special occasion - you do not have to be a bride. You may be a wedding guest, going to an important function or a grand ball. Whatever the occasion, we can cater for you.

Q: I am a bride but can I also book you for my hen night pamper party?

A: Yes - as our consultants are professional beauty therapists, we are able to provide for you and your guests a full salon quality experience in your home. We have a range of pamper packages that include facials, massage, manicures etc.
